When A Little Bit of Scents was created it was created with not only our products in mind but also our impact on the environment.
We are continuously trying to improve our carbon footprint which we feel is an important factor and should be at the forefront of every business.
So, what do we do?
Firstly, our soy wax is a natural sustainable wax. Soy wax is made from the oil of soybeans. It gives a long clean slow burn which eliminates indoor air pollution.
Our containers are made from glass which can be recycled or up-cycled the latter being our preferred option. The lids are made from bamboo. The advantage of bamboo is it grows incredibly fast and can be replenished at a fast rate.
When choosing how to ship our products we did a lot of research to ensure we get them to our customer in one piece and undamaged but also with also minimal plastics. We use cardboard boxes along with paper honeycomb wrap. Our box filler is biodegradable and if you run water on it, it will magically disappear. We only use paper tape, and our shipping bags are compostable.
Our wax melt packaging is made from PET plastic which is a material that liquefies when at high temperature instead of burning so is an ideal material for recycling. PET is considered a green plastic. We did explore all avenues for our clamshells but at the moment this for us is the best option.
We will continue to research and explore all options when it comes to reducing our carbon footprint.
